According to the announcement made on Falgun 27, 2073 BS, the area of Pokhara Metropolitan City is 464.24 square kilometers, and the total population is 5,513,504 (as per the summary result of the National Census 2078 BS). The former Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City will serve as the center for the Metropolitan City. Pokhara Metropolitan City is divided into 33 wards, including Pokhara Metropolitan City, Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City, Lekhnath Municipality, Mauja, Chapakot, Bhadaure Tamagi (3,9), Kaskikot Majhathana (1,4,9), Kalika (1,5), and Puranchaur Ga. Bi. S. Mile. To the east of Pokhara Metropolitan City lies Madi and Rupa Rural Municipalities, to the west is Annapurna Rural Municipality in Parbat and Syangja Districts, to the north are Machhapuchhre and Madi Rural Municipalities, and to the south are Syangja and Tanahun Districts.
